InfoDay: Digital Europe Programme, a funding opportunity for digital transformation
The Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) is an EU funding program focused on bringing digital technology closer to businesses, citizens and public administrations. On November 15, the European Commission launched new calls for cybersecurity that will remain open until February 15th, 2023 with an accumulated investment of around 180 million euros.
With a total of 7,600 million euros, the program is part of the next long-term budget of the EU (the Multiannual Financial Framework) and covers the period 2021-2027. It will finance projects in five key areas: supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced digital skills and the use of digital technologies in the economy and society. Its objective is to accelerate economic recovery and shape the digital transformation of the European society and economy, bringing benefits to all, but in particular to SMEs.
INCIBE, as the National Coordination Center (NCC-ES) of the European Cybersecurity Competence Center (ECCC), seeks to encourage the participation of SMEs, start-ups and other agents in these European cybersecurity calls for the different programs of the European Commission.
On December 19th 2022, an InfoDay was held allowing attendees to learn more about the DEP and the ongoing calls about cybersecurity. In addition, some advice was offered for the design of a successful proposal to obtain financing for technological innovation, grants for technology or subsidies for R&I technological development projects in large companies and SMEs, also different strategic lines of the Horizon Europe Programme were addressed during the event.
