INCIBE selects the members of the Spanish team that will compete in the European Cyber Security Challenge 2020 in Vienna
INCIBE, as part of the organizing committee of the European Cyber Security Challenge proposed by the European agency ENISA and the European Commission, has completed the selection process for the members of the Spanish national team in the competition.
The best talents from the CyberCamp 2019 national competitions passed different technical tests and interviews that enabled INCIBE to build a team in which the sum of skills in different technical disciplines allows for a strong performance in the competition.
The team representing Spain is made up of 15 members, 10 of whom are full members and 5 are reserves, young talented cybersecurity experts, between 18 and 25 years old, who will compete against their counterparts from other participating European countries.
The team members will receive technical training (remotely and in person, providing that the health situation allows it) in order to build the team. They will work on different technical categories such as website hacking, cryptography, forensics, reverse engineering, attack and defense, etc. during this training. Thus, as part of their training, from this point forward they will participate as a team in the different national or international security competitions, determined by INCIBE, with the aim of improving their capabilities.
Following the technical training and based on the results of the same, the 10 full members will be selected to attend the European competition, #ECSC2020, and the other 5 will remain as reserves for this or other competitions that might come up. The composition of the first team will be: 5 members under 20 years old (Junior category) and 5 members between 21 and 25 years old (Senior category).
The seventh edition of the competition will take place in Vienna, Austria from 3 to 7 November 2020.
