INCIBE collaborates with the University of Castilla-La Mancha organizing this scientific congress

Rosa Díaz, CEO of INCIBE, has inaugurated the sixth edition of the Spanish Cybersecurity Research Conference (JNIC), the specific scientific congress on cybersecurity of national reference, held by University of Castilla-La Mancha with the collaboration of INCIBE.

This congress will be held on June 9 and 10, 2021 and allows, for the first time in its history, free registration and online access to researchers, professionals in the sector, students and the general public interested. The investigations which have been selected, will be presented by research teams from different parts of the Spanish geography, which will present their scientific research with a common topic: its application to cybersecurity.

The conference will focus on three basic areas of work: cybersecurity research, training and teaching innovation and transference. In relation to this last point, this initiative will feature the 4th edition of its JNIC Transference Program, a contest based on resolving scientific challenges that seeks to connect the worlds of research and industry.

During her speech, the CEO of INCIBE provided the entity sustained support to this event, and emphasized the importance of organizing this type of congress that promotes national R&D&I in cybersecurity, recalling that it’s vital to promote this type of initiatives for the connection, cohesion and collaboration of the research ecosystem in this sector.

Prizes and news

As a novelty in this edition, the congress will take 2 days long due to its new compact online system, so a multi-track system will be deployed with presentations in parallel, to allow the researchers to present their investigations distributed by thematic areas.

During the celebration of the Conference, various prizes will be awarded to the best articles of different categories and to the best solution proposed to the challenges of the JNIC Transference Program.

The ceremony of the 3rd edition of the RENIC Awards for the best "Doctoral Thesis" and the best "Final Work of Master” in Cybersecurity will also take place, letting the winners the chance to present their work during the Conference.

In addition, the congress has a high participation of the research community, grouped in different committees to ensure that everything is done correctly. Among them, the organizing committee with 13 members, the executive committee with 9 or the program committees of the basic areas of work: research (40), training and innovation (12) or transference (5) respectively.
