Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp - Registration

Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp 2019 is a free event, although, those who want to participate in this training, must register in advance and obtain a validation by the competent bodies, which may vary depending on the target audience of the participant.

The registration process (deadlines and flows) vary depending on the group in which you work and the country of origin.

Below are the steps to follow to register based on the group you belong:

Those wishing to attend must belong to one of the following groups:

  • Active technical specialists from public CERTs or CSIRTs in OAS Member States.
  • Active technical specialists in public institutions in OAS Member States working on issues directly related to cybersecurity (university professors and researchers, technical specialists in cybersecurity from public institutions, etc.).
  • Active personnel from law enforcement agencies (LEAs) including police officers and relevant security agencies personnel from OAS Member States or other invited countries, working in cybersecurity-related operational units.
  • Active personnel from judicial or public prosecutor departments working in cybersecurity-related operational units in OAS Member States.

 

Registration deadlines:

  • 12 March – 12 April: Registration period - PERIOD CLOSED
  • 13 April – 2 May: Applicants selection period by OAS.
  • 9 May – 24 May: Confirmation of participants and completion of placement tests to determine the different levels of participants into Level 1 and Level 2.

 

If this applies, the applicant must complete the following steps:

  1. Action to be done before 12 April, currently closed- Complete the registration form available on the OAS website.
  2. The OAS and INCIBE will then proceed to assess the applications and make a provisional selection for verification in consultation with the competent bodies in the applicants' respective countries of origin.
  3. After approval by the OAS (in consultation with the competent bodies established by the OAS to verify the identity of the applicant), the applicant will receive confirmation from INCIBE as to whether their application has been accepted or rejected and the reasons why.
  4. In the case where an applicant is selected to participate, and after confirmation of their attendance, a placement level test will be administered to facilitate assignment into the appropriate level.
  5. After being placed in the appropriate level, the applicant will receive all the necessary information and documentation regarding their attendance to the event (hotel voucher, invitation letter for visa processing, detailed agenda of technical and social activities, etc.).

 

Participants who have been selected to attend from this group, will receive financial support to cover accommodation costs and meals during the days of the event. It will be the responsibility of each participant to cover the cost of transportation (air and / or land), health insurance, visa expenses (if required), as well as any other incidental expenses required for participation in this activity.

IMPORTANT: Those students who belong to Law Enforcement Authorities (LEAs) and work in units specialized in the fight against child abuse and / or cybercrime, may apply for a grant of the project 4NSEEK to receive financial assistance for the trip to León, Spain. Application deadline: July 1, 2019.

Those wishing to attend must belong to one of the following groups:

  • Active personnel from Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in the Spanish territory dependent on the Government of the nation.

     

    This personnel will be designated by their own Management Center (General Direction), in response to the number of vacancies offered from the Coordination and Studies Office. Priority will be given to be allocated in Cybersecurity and Technological Units, the equitable distribution between gender, and having previously developed Cybersecurity courses for LEA staff, at its basic or advanced level, developed by this Coordination and Studies Office and the INCIBE, during the last year 2018.

  • Active personnel from Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in the Spanish territory NOT dependent on the Government of the nation.

Those wishing to attend must belong to one of the following groups:

  • Active personnel within the Spanish public sector, who belong to the judicial departments, who work on areas of the Spanish public sector related to legal and regulatory cybersecurity aspects.

  • Active personnel within the Spanish public sector, who belong to the prosecutor departments, who work on areas of the Spanish public sector related to legal and regulatory cybersecurity aspects.

Those wishing to attend must belong to one of the following groups:

  • Active personnel within the Spanish public sector, who belong to the General Council of the Spanish Lawyers, Council of State, Autonomous Regional Lawyers, Senate Lawyers, State Attorneys, Congress of Deputies Lawyers, Officials of the Administration of Justice and personnel of regulatory or legislative bodies, who work on areas of the Spanish public sector related to legal and regulatory cybersecurity aspects.

Registration deadlines:

  • 12 March – 21 June: Registration period.
  • 24 June – 27 June: Selection period by INCIBE.
  • 28 June – 5 July: Confirmation to the students and completion of the level tests for their placement in the different levels of training (level 1 and level 2).

 

If this is the case, the applicant must complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the attached form and send it by email to the address c o n t a c t o g u i ó n b a j o s u m m e r b c a r r o b a i n c i b e p u n t o e s with the following data and one of the following subjects:
    1. "Registration CyberSecurity Summer BootCamp 2019 - Extensive PM Track": If you wish to take part in the Track for two weeks (from July 16 to 27)
    2. "Registration CyberSecurity Summer BootCamp 2019 - Intensive PM Track": If you wish to take part in the Track for one week (from July 22 to 27)
  2. After approval by INCIBE, the confirmation will be sent to the applicant by INCIBE.
  3. Where an applicant is selected to participate, and after confirmation of his/her acceptance, a placement test will be administered to facilitate assignment into the appropriate level within the Policy Makers track.
  4. After being placed in the appropriate level, the applicant will receive all the necessary information and documentation regarding his/her attendance to the event (detailed agenda of technical and social activities, tourist information, etc.).

Those wishing to attend must belong to one of the following groups:

  • Active Law Enforcement personnel (that DO NOT belong to any OAS Member States or the Spanish Territory) working in cybersecurity-related operational units or expect to work there shortly.

Registration deadlines:

  • 12 March – 21 June: Registration period.
  • 24 June – 27 June: Selection period by INCIBE.
  • 28 June – 5 July: Confirmation to the students and completion of the level tests for their placement in the different levels of training (level 1 and level 2).

 

If this is the case, the applicant must complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the attached form and send it by email to the address c o n t a c t o g u i ó n b a j o s u m m e r b c a r r o b a i n c i b e p u n t o e s with the following data and the subject "Registration CyberSecurity Summer BootCamp 2019 – Track LEA".
  2. After approval by INCIBE in collaboration with EUROPOL/INTERPOL, the confirmation will be sent to the applicant by INCIBE.
  3. Where an applicant is selected to participate, and after confirmation of their acceptance, a placement test will be administered to facilitate assignment into the appropriate level within the Law Enforcement tracks.
  4. After being placed in the appropriate level, the applicant will receive all the necessary information and documentation regarding their attendance to the event (detailed agenda of technical and social activities, tourist information, etc.).

IMPORTANT: Those students who belong to Law Enforcement Authorities (LEAs) and work in units specialized in the fight against child abuse and / or cybercrime, may apply for a grant of the project 4NSEEK to receive financial assistance for the trip to León, Spain. Those wishing to attend must belong to one of the following groups:

  • Active technical specialists from other national CERTs or CSIRTs (that do not belong to an OAS Member State).

IMPORTANT: If you are technical personnel of a CERT or CSIRT that is not national in scope and is not part of an OAS Member State, follow the steps to request participation in the event and from the Organization we will study your application individually.

 

Registration deadlines:

  • 12 March – 7 May: Registration period - PERIOD CLOSED
  • 8 May – 17 May: Selection period by INCIBE.
  • 20 May – 3 June: Confirmation to the students and completion of the level tests for their placement in the different levels of training (level 1 and level 2).

 

If this is the case, the applicant must complete the following steps:

  2. After approval by INCIBE, the confirmation will be issued.
  3. Where an applicant is selected to participate, and after confirmation of their acceptance, a placement test will be administered to facilitate assignment into the appropriate level within the CERTS track.
  4. After being placed in the appropriate level, the applicant will receive all the necessary information and documentation regarding their attendance to the event (detailed agenda of technical and social activities, tourist information, etc.).
