Registration

The Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp 2020 event is a training event that is free for attendees. However, to attend the event, students who want to receive this training must register in advance and obtain a validation from the relevant bodies, which will depend on the target audience of the participant.

Important: The registration process (deadlines and flows) will depend on the group in which you work and the country of origin.

Below are the steps to follow to register according to the group of which you are part:

Target audience

The audience must belong to one of the following groups:

  • National Law Enforcement Agencies: Specialists in the National Law Enforcement Agencies (LAEs). For example: staff working in cybercrime units of police forces, forensic analysis laboratories, military units, etc.
  • Early Incident Response Centers (CSIRT or CERT): CSIRT cyber incident management specialists in the region. For example: staff working in national, governmental, police, academic, etc., CSIRTs.
  • Policy Makers: Legislators, judges and prosecutors directly involved in cybersecurity issues.

Registration deadlines

The registration deadlines for this edition are as follows:

  • 26 February to 31 March: Registration deadline.
  • 1 April to 20 April: Deadline for selection by the OAS.
  • 21 April to 12 May: Confirmation given to the students and the level tests performed to place them on the different training levels (levels 1 and 2).

Registration process

The registration process for this group is as follows:

  1. Action to be taken before March 31 - Complete the registration form available on the OAS website www.oas.org/CyberSBC20.
  2. The OAS (with the collaboration of INCIBE) will consider the applications and make a pre-selection that will be verified with the competent institutions in the country of origin of the applicants.
  3. After the approval by the organisers of the activity, the confirmation by OAS will be sent, if selected, and a reserve list will be drawn up for possible withdrawals.
  4. After being placed in a level/track by the OAS, INCIBE will send the student detailed information and all the necessary documentation to attend the event (hotel voucher, invitation letter for visa processing, detailed agenda of the training and leisure activities, etc.).

Considerations

A limited number of accommodation grants will be offered by the OAS. Students who wish to enjoy this grant must say so on the application form.

Each student will be liable for the rest of the costs of attend the training event. These costs include, but are not necessarily limited to: air and/or overland travel tickets, health insurance, visa expenses (if required), subsistence allowance during the days of the event, etc.

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a serving member of National Law Enforcement Agencies, reporting to the National Government of Spain and that work in operational units related to cybersecurity or are expected to work in said operational areas.

Selection criteria

  • Priority will be given to those assigned to Cybersecurity and/or Technology Units.
  • Equitable gender distribution will be taken into consideration.
  • It will be valued to have carried out by the Unit of the interested party during the year 2018 some of the following courses:
    • Basic Cybersecurity courses for LEA staff, developed by this Coordination and Studies Office and INCIBE
    • Advanced Cybersecurity courses for LEA staff, developed by this Coordination and Studies Office and INCIBE

Registration process

The staff of the Law Enforcement Agencies will be appointed by their own Management Body (Directorate-General), depending on the number of places offered by the Coordination and Studies Office.

Considerations

The travel and accommodation expenses of the designated students shall be borne by the Unit of the designee.

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a serving member of a Law Enforcement Agency within Spain that does not report to the National Government of Spain and work in operational units related to cybersecurity.

Registration deadlines

The registration deadlines for this edition will be as follows:

  • 26 February to 31 March: Registration deadline.
  • 1 April to 20 April: Deadline for the selection of students by INCIBE.
  • 21 April to 12 May: Confirmation given to the students and the level tests performed to place them on the different training levels (levels 1 and 2).

Selection criteria

The selection of students of this group is done by INCIBE according to the following criteria:

  1. Diversity of places of origin. In the first place, a maximum of two candidates per agency and region shall be admitted.
  2. Gender diversity.
  3. Doing work related to the fight against child sexual abuse and/or cybercrime.

Registration process

The registration process for this group is as follows:

  1. They must complete the following application form, stating under training that they want to receive “LEAs”.
    IMPORTANT: In the application, for the email address the candidate must provide a work email address. Applications received with generic addresses or free accounts such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc. will not be accepted.
  2. After the deadline for receiving applications, INCIBE will select the students. First, it will ascertain whether the candidates meet the requirements set for this target audience and, for those applicants who do meet them, the selection will be made according to the defined selection criteria.
  3. Within the deadline set for the confirmation of the students, INCIBE will notify the candidates whether they have been admitted.
  4. If selected to participate, and after the confirmation of attendance by the student, a level test will be carried out to place the student in one of the levels available within the Law Enforcement Agencies track.
  5. After being placed on a level, INCIBE will send the student all the information and documentation needed to attend the event - detailed schedule of their activities, both technical and leisure, tourist information, etc.-.

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a serving member of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) that are not from the Spanish state or from any member state of the OAS and that work in operational units related to cybersecurity.

Registration deadlines

The registration deadlines for this edition will be as follows:

  • 26 February to 31 March: Registration deadline.
  • 1 April to 20 April: Deadline for the selection of students by INCIBE.
  • 21 April to 12 May: Confirmation given to the students and the level tests performed to place them on the different training levels (levels 1 and 2).

Selection criteria

The selection of students of this group is done by INCIBE according to the following criteria:

  1. Diversity of countries of origin.
  2. Gender diversity.
  3. Priority will be given to those candidates whose work is related to the fight against child sexual abuse and/or cybercrime.

Registration process

In this case, the parties concerned must perform the following actions:

  1. They must complete the following application form, stating under training that they want to receive “LAEs”
    IMPORTANT: In the application, for the email address the candidate must provide a work email address. Applications received with generic addresses or free accounts such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc. will not be accepted.
  2. After the deadline for receiving applications, INCIBE will select the students. First, it will ascertain whether the candidates meet the requirements set for this target audience and, for those applicants who do meet them, the selection will be made according to the defined selection criteria.
  3. Within the deadline set for the confirmation of the students, INCIBE will notify the candidates whether they have been admitted.
  4. If selected to participate, and after the confirmation of attendance by the student, a level test will be carried out to place the student in one of the levels available within the Law Enforcement Agencies track.

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be serving staff belonging to judicial branch working in areas of the Spanish public sector related to the legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be serving staff belonging to the profession of prosecutor working in areas of the Spanish public sector related to the legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a serving staff member of the General Council of the Spanish Legal Profession, Council of State, Lawyers from the Autonomous Community, Senate Lawyers, Congress of Deputies Lawyers or Government Lawyers, official of the Administration of Justice and staff of regulatory or legislative bodies working in areas of the Spanish public sector related to the legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.

Registration deadlines

The registration deadlines for this edition will be as follows:

  • 26 February to 31 March: Registration deadline.
  • 1 April to 20 April: Deadline for the selection of students by INCIBE.
  • 21 April to 12 May: Confirmation given to the students and the level tests performed to place them on the different training levels (levels 1 and 2).

Selection criteria

The selection of students of this group is done by INCIBE according to the following criteria:

  1. Diversity of places of origin. In the first place, a maximum of two candidates per entity of origin shall be admitted.
  2. Gender diversity.
  3. Priority will be given to those candidates whose work is related to the fight against child sexual abuse and/or cybercrime.

Registration process

In this case, the parties concerned must perform the following actions:

  1. They must complete the following application form, stating under the training that they want to receive one of the following options:
    1. Extensive Policy Makers, if they wish the two-week track (20-31 July)
    2. Intensive Policy Makers, if they wish a place on the one-week track (20-24 July)

    IMPORTANT: In the application, for the email address the candidate must provide a work email address. Applications received with generic addresses or free accounts such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc. will not be accepted.
  2. After the deadline for receiving applications, INCIBE will select the students. First, it will ascertain whether the candidates meet the requirements set for this target audience and, for those applicants who do meet them, the selection will be made according to the defined selection criteria.
  3. Within the deadline set for the confirmation of the students, INCIBE will notify the candidates whether they have been admitted.
  4. If selected to participate, and after the confirmation of attendance by the student, a level test will be carried out to place the student in one of the levels available within the Policy Makers track.
  5. After being placed on a level, INCIBE will send the student all the information and documentation needed to attend the event - detailed schedule of their activities, both technical and leisure, tourist information, etc.-.

Target audience

The attending audience must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an own technical staff member of other national CERTs or CSIRTs that are not part of an OAS Member State.
  • Be an own technical personnel active in other CERTs or CSIRTs of some critical operator, in Spain, or in another country, that is not part of an OAS Member State

The registration deadlines for this edition will be as follows:

  • 26 February to 31 March: Registration deadline.
  • 1 April to 20 April: Deadline for the selection of students by INCIBE.
  • 21 April to 12 May: Confirmation given to the students and the level tests performed to place them on the different training levels (levels 1 and 2).

Selection criteria

The selection of students of this group is done by INCIBE according to the following criteria:

  2. After the deadline for receiving applications, INCIBE will select the students. First, it will ascertain whether the candidates meet the requirements set for this target audience and, for those applicants who do meet them, the selection will be made according to the defined selection criteria.
  3. Within the deadline set for the confirmation of the students, INCIBE will notify the candidates whether they have been admitted.
  4. If selected to participate, and after the confirmation of attendance by the student, a level test will be carried out to place the student in one of the levels available within the CERTs track.
  5. After being placed on a level, INCIBE will send the student all the information and documentation needed to attend the event - detailed schedule of their activities, both technical and leisure, tourist information, etc.-.

  • Must be written from a work e-mail address. Applications received with generic addresses or free accounts such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc. will not be accepted. However, emails of doubts written with those accounts will be answered.
  • Indicate the entity in which you work, the position you hold and the cybersecurity tasks you usually perform. Also indicate why you believe you should receive this cybersecurity training.
  • Provide the country in which you carry out your work activities.
  • Detail which track you would be interested in attending.
