Application to Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp

The call for applications to attend the Cybersecurity Summer training programme BootCamp as a student ends at 23.59 (CET) on 11 June 2021. 

Application process

Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp is a free training programme for attendees. However, to attend as a student, applicants who wish to receive this training must submit their application in advance and obtain approval from the relevant bodies and institutions.

There are two ways to apply to participate in the training programme, depending on whether or not you are staff belonging to Member States of the OAS. The registration steps are detailed below broken down by the category to which applicants belong.

Applicants from the Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS)

The following countries are members of the OAS: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, The Bahamas (Commonwealth of), Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brasil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica (Commonwealth of), Ecuador, El Salvador, United States of America,  Grenada,  Guatemala,  Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, St.Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Trinidad andTobago, Uruguay and Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of).

Any serving professional belonging to any of the following groups may apply to participate in the training programme:

  • Policy Makers, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Judges and Magistrates: staff of regulatory or legislative bodies working in areas related to the legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity (policymakers) and current court and prosecutorial staff, government solicitors, civil servants working in the Administration of Justice (Public Prosecutor’s Office, judges and prosecutors).
  • Law Enforcement Agencies: Members of Law Enforcement Agencies working in operational units related to cybersecurity.
  • Cyber Incident Response Centre Specialists.

The application process for this group is as follows:

  1. From 10 May to 11 June: fill out the application form on the OAS site.
  2. From 14 June, the OAS will consider the applications and make a pre-selection that will be verified with the relevant institutions in the applicants’ countries of origin.
  3. After approval from the organisers of the activity, the OAS will send confirmation, if you are selected, and a reserve list will be drawn up in case anyone cannot attend.

Applicants not belonging to the Organization of American States (OAS)

Applications to participate in the training programme are invited from any serving member of the judiciary working in areas of the Spanish public sector related to legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.

Applications to participate in the training programme are invited from any serving member of the public prosecution service working in areas of the Spanish public sector related to legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.

Applications to participate in the training programme are invited from serving members of the Spanish Bar Association, the Council of State, Regional Government lawyers, Senate lawyers, Congress of Deputies lawyers or Government lawyers, Administration of Justice officials and staff of regulatory or legislative bodies working in areas of the Spanish public sector related to legal and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.

Any serving professional belonging to any of the following groups may apply to participate in the training programme:

  • Serving technical staff member of other national CERTs or CSIRTs that are not part of an OAS Member State.
  • Serving technical staff of other CERTs or CSIRTs of a critical operator in Spain, or in another country that is not part of a Member State of the OAS.

The application process for this group is as follows:

  1. From 10 May to 10 June: fill out the application form.
  2. From 14 June, the INCIBE will consider the applications and to make pre-selection that will be verified with the competent institutions in the country of origin of the applicants.
  3. After approval from the organisers of the activity, the OAS will send confirmation, if you are selected, and a reserve list will be drawn up in case anyone cannot attend.

Applications to participate in the training programme are invited from serving members of Spanish Law Enforcement Agencies who work in operational units related to cybersecurity or are expected to work in those operational areas

Registration process

To participate in the training workshops, the selected students must register using the relevant form, information about which will be sent to the email address used to register: follow the instructions listed in it. To register, you will be asked for the following information: 

  • Name, surname(s) and email address for participation purposes. 
  • Country for statistical purposes (not mandatory). 

We will confirm your registration by sending an email to the email address given on the registration form, along with the instructions to participate using the OAS webminar platform (Zoom).

No prior registration is required for the public seminar programme streamed on YouTube.
