Verisure data breach affects customers in Sweden
On October 17, 2025, security services provider Verisure announced that a third party had gained unauthorized access to customer data in Sweden. This incident occurred one week after Verisure made its debut on the Swedish stock exchange.
In its statement, the company indicated that it is investigating the incident and has found no evidence that their systems have been compromised. Instead, the investigation highlights that the intrusion occurred in the computer system of Alert Alarm, a Swedish company acquired by Verisure. This intrusion specifically affected the third-party billing system that serves Alert Alarm customers.
A review of Verisure's system logs concludes that the affected data includes names, postal addresses, email addresses, and Social Security numbers of approximately 35,000 current and former Alert Alarm customers in Sweden. Currently, Alert Alarm has fewer than 6,000 customers.
Verisure has notified the relevant authorities of the incident and is continuing its investigation. The company has also committed to keeping Alert Alarm customers informed as new details of the incident emerge.
