Google confirms the existence of a pre-installed backdoor on Android devices

Google discovered that a sophisticated malware, called Triada, was pre-installed on some Android devices. Apparently, Triada had been included in the system images as a third-party code, and it used additional features requested by OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacture).

Thanks to the continuous and exhaustive security reviews of the system images of the Android devices, and working together with the OEMs, a very high percentage of this threat was eliminated through automatic updates made via OTA (Over The Air).
