Dish Network hit by ransomware attack
Dish Network, the largest pay-TV provider in the United States that provides direct broadcast satellite service, has published an official statement on its website to report a cybersecurity incident that has affected its internal communications, customer call centres, Internet sites, the Dish Anywhere app or Boost Mobile (a subsidiary of Dish Network) among others.
The company, which has also notified the incident to the SEC, has specified that the attack suffered is a ransomware attack and is aware of the extraction of certain data from its IT systems which could include personal information.
