Android malware steals information from messaging applications

The cybersecurity company Trustlook has published an article describing a new malware for Android camouflaged in an application called Cloud Module. This application is aimed at Chinese users and has the ability to steal private information from messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger, Twitter or WeChat, among many others.

According to the researchers, this malware uses different techniques to avoid detection. Techniques such as the identification of analysis tools or the detection of emulators. All the stolen information was sent to a command and control server (C & C) controlled by cybercriminals.
