Arrested in Barcelona an alleged Russian hacker claimed by the FBI

The Guardia Civil, Spanish law enforcement agency officers, have confirmed the arrest of the 32-year-old Russian citizen Stanislav Lisov on January 13. The arrest occurred at the Barcelona airport of El Prat and was supported by the FBI. FBI and Interpol filed for an extradition hanging over Lisov, due to he is one of the co-authors of the malware "NeverQuest." Such malware facilitated unauthorized access to financial institution systems, providing the acquisition of credentials, user names and passwords. It is estimated that the use of this malware has caused losses of approximately $ 5 million.

Update 01/08/2017: The National Court has approved the extradition to the United States of Stanislav Lisov, since that is where most of its victims reside. Lisov recently wrote a letter to President Putin asking for help in resolving his situation but has not received any response from the Russian president.
