Costa Rica declares state of national cyberemergency

The president of the Costa Rican government has signed three national emergency decrees, one of them concerning the country's cybersecurity, due to the latest ransomware attacks by the Conti group on multiple government agencies.

Some 672GB of data from the different institutions attacked has been stolen and then gradually leaked since mid-April, with almost 97% of the data being published, mostly attributed to the Conti threat actor "UNC1756". One of the major consequences observed is that taxpayers' information, payment and customs systems have been affected.
