The crypto currency exchange platform, Binance, suffers a security breach

The platform for exchanging crypto currencies, Binance, suffered a cyberattack on 7 May 2019 that has resulted in the subtraction of 7,000 Bitcoins (BTC), equivalent to 40 million dollars.

In an official statement, the company, which is the largest exchange of crypto coins in the world in terms of turnover, said the theft affected 2% of its total stock of Bitcoins. In addition, it is not yet known exactly how many users have been affected, but the organization will be able to cover losses without help.

In addition, the company claims that the attackers have been able to get a large number of user keys and even dual-factor authentication codes, so it would launch a temporary maintenance service, during which it will not be possible to make deposits or withdrawals on the platform.
