Cyberattack paralyses several ports in Australia

Australian authorities have reported a nationwide cybersecurity incident, affecting port operator DP World Australia, which has forced the closure of four major seaports in the country.

Following detection of the cyberincident, DP World Australia stopped operations at the ports of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle.

The national cybersecurity coordinator, Air Marshal Darren Goldie, said Australian authorities are "committed" to resolving the incident as soon as possible and to working with the port operator, providing advice and technical assistance, in order to resume operations as soon as possible.
