Cybercriminal steals $ 24 million from cryptocurrency service Harvest Finance

About 24 million USD in tokens have been stolen from Harvest Finance, a decentralized finance protocol (DeFi), by a cybercriminal.

The incident, detected on October 26, thanks to analytics service provider DeFi prime, affected Harvest Finance's USDC and USDT cryptocurrency deposits. The attack did not compromise deposits, users of DAI, TUSD, WBTC, or renBTC.

Given this fact, Harvest decided to cold-protect the funds of all its users, while blocking the affected deposits to avoid further losses. However, the value of its token, FARM, fell more than 50%.

Currently, the attacker is being tracked and has been asked to return the stolen funds. Likewise, a remediation plan is being drawn up for affected users.
