Data from a database of Animal Jam game is stolen

The company WildWorks, developer of the game Animal Jam, has reported a security breach in one of its databases, after an attack on a vendor's server that WildWorks uses for internal communications.

The server was compromised in October, however, the data theft was detected on 11th of November after it was posted on the forum raidforums.com.

The compromised data amounts to 46 million records in Animal Jam accounts and includes: email addresses, player usernames, passwords, date of birth, gender, billing address and parent names. In contrast, payment card information remained secure.

Currently, the incident is still being investigated and all game users are asked to change their passwords. The relevant authorities and police forces have also been informed of the incident.
