DDoS attacks on the launch of Overwatch 2

The 4 October launch of the Blizzard Entertainment-owned game Overwatch 2 was affected by a DDoS attack. In fact, another DDoS attack took place the following day, and the problems persisted.

The incident led to server saturation, causing more than 40,000 users to be unable to access the game and have to wait.

The company's president and game director both posted messages on Twitter, acknowledging the attacks and reporting on plans to mitigate the incident.
