The energy operator ERG reported a cyberattack

The Italian energy operator ERG has reported some disruptions in its IT infrastructure, which did not affect the operation of its plants thanks to an immediate activation of cybersecurity protocols.

According to media reports, the incident was a ransomware cyberattack coordinated by criminal group LockBit 2.0. The restoration of the affected systems will be gradual.
