Between February 22 and March 2, 2025, Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA), a Hyundai subsidiary that develops software for the automotive industry, suffered a cyberattack that compromised the personal data of its employees and contractors. The intrusion was detected on March 1, 2025, when unauthorized access to the company's network was identified. Following this, the company activated its security protocols, blocked access to its external systems, and initiated a forensic investigation with cybersecurity specialists to determine the full extent of the breach.

The compromised data includes critical identification information such as Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and residential addresses. In response, the company has launched two years of monitoring services for those affected and has advised them to review their banking transactions and consider activating fraud alerts to mitigate potential damage.

Hyundai AutoEver America is conducting investigations into the data breach, working with relevant authorities to understand the scope of the cyberattack. The company has confirmed that no information related to connected vehicle operations or critical infrastructure has been compromised.
