Posted date 25/10/2024

Omni Family Health, a non-profit organisation that provides health services to underserved communities in California, has notified nearly 470,000 of its customers that their personal data was stolen in a cyber-attack in August. Although Omni has found no evidence that the stolen data was used for fraud or phishing, those affected have been offered 12 months of free monitoring and identification of their data.

In its statement, the company released details of the incident, setting August 7th, 2024 as the start of the incident. Allegations of an alleged intrusion into Omni Family Health's systems were also posted on the Dark Web. Omni mobilised response teams and notified the relevant authorities and law enforcement agencies to launch an investigation. On August 23rd, the ranwomware group Hunters International added Omni to its list of victims and published the stolen 2.7 terabytes.
