Information leakage in the Swedish government

The Swedish PM has announced that the Interior Minister and the Infrastructure Minister are no longer part of the government due to a leak of confidential data from a government agency. This leak is due to the fact that the Swedish Transport Agency outsourced the management of its IT systems and assigned its management to the US company IBM, which subcontracted Czech employees without the necessary authorizations.

The database that was accessed by unauthorized employees contains mostly civilian, but also police and military vehicles, as well as protected identities, police records and armored truck routes that carry money throughout the country.

According to the affected agency and the government, there are no indications that the information has been improperly used or transferred to third parties.
