The Intel Atom C2000 series could be the cause of the obsolescence of Cisco devices

Cisco, the North American multinational dedicated to network solutions and internet devices development, has published in its official web the fault of manufacture of one of its components that affects to several of its devices shortening its useful life to18 months.

The company states that it will replace the products with valid guarantees or with service contracts in force as from November 16, 2016 and a list to consult the affected products.

Although Cisco declines to disclose the manufacturer, several sources point to the Intel Atom C2000 system-on-chip as the responsible of the problem, since the failure of Cisco devices coincides with the failure published in the documentation provided by Intel about the Intel Atom C2000 chips family.
