Massive leak of billions of pieces of data

Security Discovery, in collaboration with the Cybernews team, has revealed the most significant mass breach in history so far, known as the "Mother of all Breaches" (MOAB). The database exposes 26 billion records, including sensitive data from key services such as Tencent, Weibo, LinkedIn and Twitter. Although some of the data is from previous leaks, researchers warn of the possibility of new information. The compromised data ranges from credentials to government records.

Tencent is the most affected company, with 1.4 billion records coming from its messaging app. Experts warn of potential credential stuffing, identity theft and phishing attacks in the coming weeks.

The situation is still developing and cybersecurity researchers continue to work actively to understand the full extent and potential security implications, while urging the adoption of cybersecurity practices, such as one-time passwords and multi-factor authentication, to mitigate the associated risks.
