Millions of data stolen from T-Mobile

Network operator T-Mobile US has confirmed a cyberattack on its IT systems in which cybercriminals gained unauthorised access to personally identifiable data relating to millions of customers, former customers and other potential ones.
After incident detection on 17th of August via an online forum, a forensic investigation was launched in collaboration with third parties, which has confirmed that attackers used multiple techniques, including brute force attacks.

The cybercriminal, John Binns, has revealed that he was responsible for the cyberattack on the WSJ, explaining how he did it and why, criticizing the lack of security measures of the operator.

T_Mobile concludes that access and egress points to the compromised servers have been closed, no financial data was compromised and that those affected will be informed.
