MoneyTaker, a group of hackers specialized in bank robberies

The security company Group-IB has detected a group of Russian hackers specialized in the theft of banking entities by distributing malware in their computer systems. In particular, hackers attacked credit card processing systems to be able to activate them "legally" and obtain money from ATMs. The group obtained around 500,000 dollars in each attack, making a total of 10 million since its first operation in May 2016.

The affected financial entities are mainly located in the United States, the United Kingdom and Russia, and according to some sources, they also planned to attack Latin American banks.
