New vulnerability in Intel processors called SPOILER

Researchers at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Lübeck have discovered a new vulnerability called SPOILER in Intel processors.

This security flaw affects all Intel processors from the first Core generation launched in 2006 to the current ninth generation. SPOILER makes computer attacks to exploit Spectre variants, such as Rowhammer, much faster and more effective.

According to The Register, an Intel spokesperson has stated that they are working to address this vulnerability and that they hope that the software can be protected against these problems by employing side channel safe development practices.
