New York Post suffers Twitter and website incident

The US daily New York Post announced that it had suffered a security incident on its Twitter account and website, publishing offensive articles and content without consent on both sites.

Initial investigations suggest that the New York Post's content management system was misused to change the headlines of published articles. In addition, the offending tweets were sent through the SocialFlow plugin and also contained links pointing to the newspaper's websites, but shortly thereafter they were no longer accessible.

Iva Benson, a spokeswoman for News Corp, the company that owns the New York Post, told the media that the offensive content posted was removed and the investigation continued. The spokesperson later said that an employee was allegedly responsible for the incident.
