The perl.com domain has been hijacked

The Perl NOC, the blog dedicated to the infrastructure around the Perl programming language, has reported that the domain perl.com was hijacked on 27th of January and, at the time of publication, it points to an IP address possibly linked to past malware campaigns.

After the hijacking, the cybercriminals put it up for sale for $190.000 on afternic.com.

Network Solutions and Tom Christiansen, the legitimate registrar, are currently working together to recover the domain and, for the time being, it is recommended not to visit it, and have temporarily enabled perldotcom.perl.org to access the site.
