Pharmaceutical company Bayer suffers a cyber attack

Bayer, Germany's largest pharmaceutical company, has been cyber-attacked by the Wicked Panda group of cyber-criminals operating from China.

Andreas Rohr, employee of the DCSO cybersecurity group, has specified that the malware used is called WINNTI. This makes it possible to access a system remotely and then search for new exploits.

A company spokesman has stated that there is no evidence of data theft, even from third parties, although the damage caused is still being assessed, and German prosecutors have initiated an investigation.
