Police operation dismantles computer fraud criminal organization

After months of investigation by the Central Cybercrime Unit, agents of the National Police last week dismantled a gang that allegedly carried out computer scams. It is estimated that this organization had carried out fraudulent activities for almost three million euros, using smishing, phishing and vishing techniques.

34 members of the criminal group were arrested and a total of 16 searches were carried out in Madrid, Malaga, Huelva, Alicante and Murcia, where two simulated firearms, a catana, a baseball bat, 80,000 euros in cash, four high-end vehicles, a database with cross-referenced information on four million people and computer and electronic material valued at thousands of euros were seized.
