Ransomware cyberattack impacts critical services in Vanuatu

Vanuatu, an island nation in Oceania, has been the victim of a cyberattack that has affected its communications and official infrastructure, bringing down the websites of the parliament, the police and the prime minister's office, as well as all government services and departments.

It also rendered the email system, intranet and online databases of schools, hospitals and other emergency services unusable. Vanuatu is committed to upgrading its system and has asked neighbouring Australia to help it recover from the incident.
