Samsung suffers cybersecurity incident

Samsung, South Korea's largest corporate group with subsidiaries spanning different businesses, has acknowledged, in statements to media outlet SamMobile, that it recently detected a security breach that affected source code related to the operation of Galaxy devices, but did not include personal information of customers or employees.

Several media outlets have reported that the LAPSUS$ ransomware group was responsible and encrypt the volume of leaked data at 190GB. For its part, Samsung says it has strengthened its security measures to prevent further incidents of this type and that it has not affected customers, devices or the company's normal operations.
