Security flaw in Wyze devices

A security incident has affected Wyze camera users, who discovered after a service outage on Friday that they were able to access other users' home views. The problem was caused by an incorrect assignment of device and user identifiers during the outage on Amazon Web Service (AWS), Wyze's cloud provider.

While the company claims that no live streams or videos were allowed to be accessed, it admitted that some users were able to see thumbnails of other people's cameras. David Crosby, co-founder of Wyze, has announced immediate measures, including temporarily disabling the events feature and implementing additional verifications for users. The company is also forcing logouts to reset tokens and has contacted the approximately 13,000 users affected by the security breach.
