T-Mobile suffers a data theft again
On August 20, the T-Mobile cybersecurity team discovered an unauthorized access to certain information of its users. Among the data that have been compromised are found the name, number and type of account, billing zip code, phone number and email address. This theft of data has affected 3% of its customers, about 2 million customers who, according to the company, have already been notified.
Although T-Mobile ensures that financial data, social security numbers and passwords have not been affected, various sources report that a T-Mobile spokesperson told Motherboard that stolen data also included encrypted passwords.
In 2015, the telecommunications giant already suffered a data theft that affected 15 million users. The company has informed its customers that they can contact them to obtain more information.
