UCLM has fallen victim to Ryuk ransomware

The University of Castile-La Mancha (UCLM) confirmed having been the victim of a Ryuk ransomware-type cyberattack targeting its critical IT infrastructure on Sunday 18 April, which has encrypted certain critical servers, with limited impact on databases and no evidence of sensitive information being compromised.

Following the connection outage in response, ICT professionals are working to re-establish the institution's digital services. The cyberattack has been reported to the relevant body in charge of its management.
