Unauthorized access to Foxit Software user accounts
Foxit Software, a Company dedicated to the creation of products, services and solutions to manage PDF documents, detected a non-authorized access to user accounts of its “My account” platform.
As published in their official statement, compromised data contains information like email addresses, user names, passwords, phone numbers, company and IP addresses. No banking information has been exposed, they do not storage that kind of information on their systems.
As a first measure, the company revoked the credentials of all the accounts involved, and then requested the affected users to reset their passwords. It has also established communications with affected users, offering them guidelines and advice to minimise risks. In addition, the Foxit team has begun a forensic investigation to determine the causes of this intrusion.
