Unauthorized access to Nintendo accounts

Nintendo has confirmed, through an official statement, that more than 160,000 user accounts have been compromised since the beginning of April, through the use of the login system through the Nintendo Network ID (NNID).

Attackers were able to access users' personal information such as name, birthdate, country, and email address.

The company has removed the feature of logging into a Nintendo account via NNID. It also recommends that players reset their passwords, use different ones for NNID and Nintendo accounts, and use the double authentication factor.
