VTech fined $650K for violating US privacy regulations UU

This fine occurs three years after an information leak of more than 4.8 million customers that affected the company. VTech Electronics Ltd, which specializes in toys based in Hong Kong, was fined $650K for violating US child privacy regulations.

Thanks to this leakage of information it was discovered that VTech collected personal information through the Kid Connect application without the consent of the parents or guardians of the children. This personal information collected included names and surnames, birthdays or gender, in addition all this information was sent and stored without any security measures.
