Funding and call for applications

The Project NCC-ES “National Coordination Centre - Spain” es a project co-financed by the European Union (EU) through the Digital Europe program, call for proposals DIGITAL-ECCC-2022-CYBER-03-NAT-COORDINATION.

This call is aimed at the creation and operation of National Coordination Centers (NCCs) in the Member States which have been recognized by the Commission to achieve the mission and objectives laid down in the Regulation establishing the European Cybersecurity Industrial, Technology and Research Competence Centre (ECCC) and the Network of NCCs.

Duration

The expected duration of the project is from November 2023 to October 2025, inclusive.

Motivation and justification

The main objective of the call DIGITAL-ECCC-2022-CYBER-03-NAT-COORDINATION is to increase and improve the capacities of the NCC in Spain with the implementation of different actions and services. in order to connect private and public entities, SMEs and start-ups, focused on the Cybersecurity sector.

The main objective of the project is to improve cybersecurity and coordination at national level through activities developed by INCIBE, as part of the European efforts to strengthen resilience against cyberthreats, positioning INCIBE as a national reference in cybersecurity.

The tasks to be addressed include specialized training of employees, the promotion of cross-border cooperation, communication with national and European actors, as well as the creation of a national cybersecurity community, focusing on:

  • Specialized training of staff in cybersecurity.
  • The promotion of cross-border cooperation through communication and dissemination plans.
  • Supporting the national ecosystem in participating in European projects.
  • Strengthening the national cybersecurity ecosystem and its integration into the European market.

Project objectives

The main objective of the NCC-ES project is to increase and improve the capabilities of the NCC in Spain with the implementation of different actions and services in order to connect national companies focused on the Cybersecurity sector and integrate them into the European ecosystem.

An open and diverse national community will be created involving private and public entities, SMEs and start-ups, fostering cooperation and helping stakeholders to channel their needs through European funding. The NCC-ES will contribute to achieving the objectives of Regulation (EU) 2021/887) and constitutes the national interface with the ECCC and the network of NCCs. 

The project focuses on four main objectives:

1.    To support the strategic tasks of the ECCC
2.    To promote cross-border cooperation and the preparation of joint actions
3.    To act as a National Point at national and European level
4.    To enhance cooperation at national level by promoting and intensifying dialogue in the field of cybersecurity research and innovation
 

Beneficiaries

The main beneficiaries of this call include mainly SMEs, startups, universities, research centers and public organizations in Spain, thus improving the level of national cyber resilience.
