Mission NCC-ES INCIBE

National Coordination Centre in Spain

The National Coordination Centre (NCC-ES INCIBE) acts as a national contact and coordination point to support the Competence Centre in its mission and objectives, and cooperates with the other relevant stakeholders, industry, the public sector, the academic and research community and citizens, bearing in mind the challenges involved in the field of cybersecurity.

Its mission also includes the implementation of cross-border projects and joint actions financed through the EU, which capitalise on the national production fabric through instruments such as cascade financing that enable the granting of aid to third parties. In this way, technical and economic support is provided, especially to SMEs, by providing access to knowledge, connecting with potential markets and obtaining access to financing.

AIso has the mission of creating a national public-private Competence Community that brings together the existing knowledge in the field and helps to outline national priorities for research and capacity building, bearing in mind the characteristics, specificities and level of maturity in this area. These priorities serve as a basis for sizing cybersecurity funds in the 2021-2027 multi-annual financial framework, mainly through the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes, with the aim of contributing to the creation of an interconnected EU-wide industrial and research ecosystem on cybersecurity.
