End of support for Windows 7 and 8.1
On 10 January 2023, security and technical support for Windows 7 Extended Security Update (ESU) and 8.1 came to an end. In both cases, support officially ended 3 years ago, but Microsoft decided to extend it through paid programmes, exclusively for business users, due to the widespread use, especially of Windows 7 (it is estimated that more than 11% of desktops still use it).
The company recommends upgrading to a more current version of Windows. If the devices do not meet sufficient technical requirements to run the latest version of Windows, they advise replacing them with one compatible with Windows 11.
