Mēris, a new botnet, breaks DDoS attack record

According to Qrator Labs researchers, a new botnet known as Mēris has appeared, which has a recorded power of 21.8 million of request per second (RPS) so far and is composed of at least 200.000 devices. A fact that has helped it break the record for the largest DDoS attack by volume.

Its features are based on the use of the SOCKS4 proxy at the affected device, HTTP pipelining technique for DDoS attacks and open port 5678.
