About us
Internet Segura for Kids (IS4K) is the Centre for Internet Security for minors in Spain the purpose of which is the fostering of a safe and responsible use of the Internet and new technologies among children and teenagers. Its main goals are:
- Raising awareness and train minors, young people, families, educators and professionals working with minors through the development of national campaigns, initiatives and programmes.
- Offering a helpline service to advise and assist minors, families, educators and professionals working with minors on how to face risks on the Internet: harmful contents, dangerous contacts and inappropriate behaviours.
- Organising the Safer Internet Day in Spain.
- Reducing the availability of the criminal contents on the Internet, mainly related to child abuse, giving support to law enforcement agencies.
IS4K is led and coordinated by the SESIAD (State Secretariat for the Information Society and Digital Agenda, as per the Spanish acronym), with the support of Red.es, and it executes its services through the INCIBE (Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute, as per the Spanish acronym), in collaboration with other reference entities. In line with the BIK European Strategy (Better Internet for Kids), it is part of the pan-European INSAFE network of Centres for Internet Security and is cofounded by the European Commission.
